Week Number four of the Acadiana Postgame means the start of district play, and it also means rivalries renewed.

It's not often that the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams and Barbe Bucs both move into their matchup with losing records. This game is always a certain type of nasty, and the gauge will be turned even higher with the risk of the loser going to 1-3 and 0-1 in District 5-3A. Fan bases are never the most patient of groups, and this rivalry match means even more than usual to both constituencies.

Notre Dame makes the cut yet again. There's a reason they get so much love in any form of power rankings with the schedule they brave every season. After taking out STM (in the jamboree), LaGrange, Breaux Bridge and Teurlings, the Pios are still biting off everything they can chew.

District 5-2A is packed with contenders, and the very first week of district play pits two of the top dogs against each other, Notre Dame and Opelousas Catholic.

Dane Charpentier's Vikings throw a lot of points on the board, but they haven't faced anything like the Pios' D. Will Notre Dame continue to send messages across the state? We will all see.

In the Acadiana Postgame/News Talk 96.5 KPEL Game of the Week, Brandon and Ian will be broadcasting North Vermilion and Erath. An old school rivalry with deep roots around Acadiana, this game is sure to please and bring its fair share of drama. Games mean a bit more when the alumni come out and turn up the heat. How will things play out?

Rivalries, district games...week four means the temperature turns up.
