Does anybody really think the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams are the 11th most dangerous team in Class 5A? Didn't think so.

Sure, the Wreckin' Rams started off with a losing record and suffered a pretty brutal loss to Ponchatoula. According to power points, LSWA polls, and the population outside the Acadiana area, the Wreckin' Rams are on the outside looking in on the state championship in 5A. Need I remind everybody how they ran the table with a lower seed last year? How did that end again? That's right, a state championship.

Ted Davidson's crew is probably laughing at this berth. Most coaches don't care about seeding, but the fact of the matter is it paves an easier road if you receive favor from the number crunchers. With the path they already traveled, Acadiana doesn't mind another trek.

Myles Hutchinson has experienced his own journey at the quarterback position for the Rams, and now they are passing the ball more effectively than in most years. It will help take the load off the shoulders of a couple horses.

Jayrin Wilson, Kevin Moore and Malik George are the heartbeat of this squad. They complete all three levels of the defense as playmakers: Wilson in the secondary, Moore at linebacker and George on the line. With all three of them clicking (and all three contributing on offense as well), this team is flatout scary. Pardon me, but I think I hear those gears clicking into place...

Confidence is key in high school athletics, and the Rams are oozing it.

They're riding a six game win streak and polished off an undefeated record in District 3-5A to finish out the season. The district as a whole was a bit down this year, but don't let that fool you. Acadiana is every bit as dangerous as you expect with their veer attack.

Central Lafourche will get the first taste of the Veer Machine. If it picks up speed, there's no telling how far that engine could take the Rams...possibly all the way to another spot in their trophy case.
