This is a game preview, written by the voice of the Wreckin’ Rams, James P. Bitterman.

Last Friday night the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams (1-1) got brought behind the woodshed by the Ponchatoula Green Wave (2-0).

Congratulations to Ponchatoula, they beat Acadiana in all facets of the game, leaving ZERO doubt who the better team was.  I admit, I really like the team I saw from Ponchatoula. They have a lot of pieces necessary to make a deep playoff run and are very well coached.

Acadiana must now get focused on this week's opponent, an old district 3-5A foe in Carencro.  The Golden Bears bring a record of 2-0 in to Friday night's game and have been very impressive in each win, 49-0 over Westgate and 19-7 over New Iberia.

Carencro is led by running back Tyreik Campbell, who has rushed 45 times for 387 yards and 3 touchdowns.  The Golden Bears quarterback, Gabe Duffy, has rushed for 160 yards on 26 carries and thrown for 72 yards.  Duffy is very fast and also plays baseball for Carencro.

I have not been at practice this week at AHS, but I have to believe that Coach Davidson will have the Rams laser focused on the task at hand.

Should be a very exciting game as it usually is between Carencro and Acadiana.

Next week district play starts at Barbe.

The game can be heard in the Acadiana area on espn 1420 am, on the internet at espn1420.com, and on smart phone app radioPup.
