LSU Kids Turn Pizza Boxes Into Viral Death Valley Moment
Sometimes all it takes to entertain a group of kids is a bunch of empty pizza boxes and an idea that gets increasingly out of hand.
As LSU was cruising past McNeese inside Tiger Stadium, another competition of sorts was developing in the stands.
A couple of kids began stacking empty pizza boxes on a vacant seat.
Then somebody found another box.
And another.
Before long, they had an army.
Videos posted to social media showed a growing tower of pizza boxes rising from the stands as more kids joined the effort. Fans throughout the section quickly became invested, with chants of "Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!" breaking out as people tried to locate more boxes.
Tyler Shexnayder, who captured video of the scene, said it all started completely randomly.
"These two boys just randomly started piling pizza boxes on the empty seat next to me," Shexnayder said. "Soon another boy was rounding up boxes for them. Then my son joined in."
Eventually, he said, kids were bringing boxes from around the stadium to help grow the tower.
The LSU Pizza Box Section Was Born
At some point, this stopped being a couple of kids stacking trash and became a legitimate Death Valley attraction.
Fans across the section were yelling for more boxes. People were filming. The tower kept growing.
The kids even made it onto the Tiger Stadium video board, prompting the kind of celebration normally reserved for an LSU touchdown.
Videos of the moment began spreading across social media, and local television cameras also caught the unusual scene.
The section had essentially earned itself a new nickname: the Pizza Box Section.
And everyone seemed perfectly fine with it.

Even Mike The Tiger Got Involved
Eventually, LSU mascot Mike the Tiger made his way over to the tower.
You can probably guess what happened next.
Mike knocked it down.
The dramatic destruction of the pizza box wall only added another chapter to what had already become one of the most entertaining sideshows of the game.

Shexnayder said members of Mike's crew appeared ready to stop the tower from getting any larger, although he wasn't sure whether it was because of a complaint or simply a safety concern.
"I didn't hear a single complaint while we were there," he said. "All I saw was a bunch of people having a good time."
Sometimes Kids Just Need Pizza Boxes
Maybe that's why the whole thing was so much fun to watch.
For a little while, there were no video games to keep them entertained. No scrolling. No AI. No complicated plan from the adults.
Just a bunch of kids who decided empty pizza boxes needed to be stacked as high as humanly possible.
Then other kids wanted in.
Then the adults got invested.
Then an entire section started chanting.
And eventually Mike the Tiger showed up to destroy their masterpiece.
That's the kind of completely random childhood memory that could get brought up for decades.
Whether building pizza box towers at LSU games becomes a new Death Valley tradition remains to be seen. But after seeing the reaction this one received, don't be surprised if kids in other sections start looking at those empty pizza boxes a little differently.
And if Papa Johns is paying attention, somebody might want to find these kids.

At minimum, they've earned a pizza.
