Two Ascension Catholic Running Backs Injured
The High School State Title games begin tomorrow. Three of our local teams will be competing tomorrow evening.
The first game is at 3:30pm where our local squad, Lafayette Christian Academy takes on Ascension Catholic in the Division IV State Championship Game.
However, Ascension Catholic could be down two of their top running backs. Jamar Barber and Jai Williams were injured Wednesday morning in an auto accident.
It's said that there were two others in the vehicle that went off the road that struck a fire hydrant. All of the persons involved in the single car accident were reportedly transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
Sources say that the injures are not major and that they could have been much worse, hopefully all involved are safe and doing okay.
Barber and Williams have been major pieces to the puzzle that have gotten Ascension Catholic to the Division IV State Title Game against LCA. This is the first time Catholic will be in a State Title Game since winning the Class 1A Championship in 1992.
