There are All-State teams for each individual classification, and making those rosters is an incredible honor. Making USA Today's All-Louisiana team takes it a step farther.

The All-USA Louisiana Football team looks at players from every classification and puts the top talent together on the same roster. It's the best of the best, and three players from the Acadiana area found their name on the prestigious list.

Erath's star running back Elijah Mitchell's name showed up right next to Jennings' back Travis Etienne Jr., which should come as no surprise to anyone who watched the two of them play. Mitchell led the state in rushing yards in 2016, and Etienne was a human highlight reel every time he touched the ball. There's no debate they're the top backs in the state, and they earned every bit of this recognition with fantastic play on the field.

Tyler Shelvin made second team all-district in District 5-2A, largely due to the fact that he missed several games with an injury. The massive defensive lineman still got the attention of the people at USA Today though. They picked Shelvin for the All-Louisiana team on the defensive line, which is just another accolade for the Under Armour All-American. When Shelvin leaves Notre Dame, he's headed to LSU, where he will play with, and against, several other players on the All-Louisiana team.

Shelvin, Mitchell and Etienne are all going to play on Saturdays. Shelvin will be a Tiger, Mitchell is a Ragin' Cajuns commit and Etienne has letters from almost every coach in the country. The three seniors left their mark at their respective high schools, and they put their teams on the map again by making the All-Louisiana team.

USA Today selected Landry-Walker's quarterback, Keytaon Thompson (3,825 passing yards, 46 TD's; 1,434 rushing yards, 26 TD's), as their offensive MVP and Southern Lab linebacker Christopher Allen (92 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 8 sacks) as defensive MVP, both deserving candidates and outstanding talents on the football field. Both are headed to the SEC, where Allen will play for Alabama and Thompson will suit up for Mississippi State.

The names on this list could be some of the top performers in college football, and some of them might even make it to the NFL one day. Mitchell, Shelvin and Etienne should be proud to be a part of such a special group, and their families should be even prouder.
