Acadiana Hosts Ponchatoula In Week 2

The following is a game preview of Acadiana hosting Pontchatoula, written by the voice of the Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams, James P. Bitterman.

The Acadiana' Wreckin Rams (1-0) opened their 2016 season doing what they do best, rushing for 292 yards; 185 by Ziggy Francis, as they beat the Northside Vikings 56-14.

Francis not only led the Wreckin' Rams in rushing yards, but he also had 3 touchdowns, while Jaylen James, Bryan Lebon and Jaylon Borel all had a rushing touchdown.

Jaylon Borel and Hunter Tabb teamed up for 2 passing touchdowns for the Wreckin' Rams.

The Wreckin' Rams have a bone to chew with the Ponchatoula Green Wave (1-0) after the Green Wave administered one of the most thorough losses the Rams have suffered in recent years when the two teams met in Ponchatoula last year.

Ponchatoula shut the Rams out, held them to 4 first downs and 83 total yards as they dominated the game from start to finish in a 26-0 win.

Lead by quarterback Ja'Kyle Holmes, 2 touchdown runs in the Waves 21-0 win last week, battering running back Juan Gross, 5-11 235 pounds, and under the leadership of Coach Hank Tierney, the Wave will be a formidable opponent.
