It's the final week of the regular season. Notre Dame and Ascension Episcopal have undefeated seasons on the line. Can they hold on?

Central Catholic-Morgan City, led by Stefano Guarisco (a one man destruction machine on offense), would love nothing more than to defeat the Blue Gators and create a de facto three-way tie in District 7-1A. The problem is, Ascension Episcopal is diverse, deadly and determined to make their head coach, former Ragin' Cajun Quarterback Michael Desormeaux, proud.

AES found a way to slow down Vermilion Catholic earlier this season. Their defense deserves a ton of credit, and Jake Arceneaux's emergence as the unquestioned leader on offense has opened up Ja'Ciery Linzer for more damage on defense.

If you love football, go to Morgan City. If you're a college scout, go to Morgan City. If you want to have fun this Friday...you catch my drift.

Next up, another matchup to make college scouts drool. Notre Dame against an angry, vengeful Catholic High-New Iberia squad. The Pioneers have absolutely dismembered opponents, but the Panthers have a particularly large chip on their shoulder. After being forced by the LHSAA to forfeit four wins, Catholic-NI and Head Coach Brent Indest will be on the war path to earn a playoff spot. Sophomore QB Diallo Landry and RB Seth Pierre can do a lot of damage, but the Pios are downright scary.

Luke Johnson, of The Advocate, put it very accurately when we pointed out a simple fact on Twitter.

After those two matchups, it's hard to find a final game to settle on...that's why I'll be releasing a special bonus edition of the football forecast this week. It will be a special devotion to Cecila vs St. Martinville. Did you think we forgot? Come on now.

The Ville and the Bulldogs are both undefeated, and their game will determine District 5-4A and a lot of playoff positioning. Don't worry. We'll shine a bright spotlight where it needs to be.

Last but certainly not least, Ian Auzenne and Brandon Comeaux will broadcast Vermilion Catholic versus Lafayette Christian Academy on News Talk 96.5 KPEL FM. If Central Catholic spoils Ascension's party, this becomes an immediate chance for VC to lock up a tie in District 7-1A...but if LCA senior athlete Reagan Miller has anything to do with it, the Knights will be riding high.

This is the last week before it's elimination time. District titles will be handed out. Get the trophy cases ready.
